Ronaldo is ready for action tonight

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he will be available for tonight's Premier League opener against Brighton at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo has pleaded with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to drop him for tonight's Premier League opener against Brighton at Old Trafford.

The Dutch coach's new season at United this season is more about the future of Ronaldo, who has wanted to leave the club since the start of the transfer window this summer.

But the Portuguese forward's desire to find a team to play in Europe's Champions League seems unfulfilled as no one is interested in acquiring his services.

Thirty-seven-year-old Ronaldo's position in Ten Hag's starting line-up is still a question mark after the player missed pre-season due to personal matters.

Last weekend, he played just 45 minutes in a friendly against Rayo Vallecano and left the stadium with 10 minutes to go.

However, the five-time Ballon d'Or insisted he was ready to step down by uploading a picture of himself on Instagram with the words "Ready". - AGENCIES
