London: New West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca will miss the English Premier League (EPL) opener against reigning champions Manchester City.
West Ham manager David Moyes said Scamacca was not at his best level of fitness for the match following his move from Serie A club Sassuolo.
The Italy international joined West Ham on a five-year deal last month, but Moyes said tomorrow's action was premature for the 23-year-old striker. “Scamacca just joined us so he's a bit late so I don't expect him to be ready this week. “He hasn't had a chance to play yet ... so it's going to be hard for us to put him on the field early.
