The New York Knicks beat the defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. After the game, Gregg Popovich spoke about his team the way one should speak about a team that lost to the 2014-2015 New York Knicks.
We didn’t respect the game. We didn’t respect our opponent. It was a pathetic performance. I hope that every player is embarrassed, not because we’re “supposed to win the game,” but it’s about how you play the game.
Luckily for New York, they’re still a game ahead of behind the Timberwolves in the loss column and still hold the worst record in the NBA. No matter how pathetic the Spurs played.
